Our Longest Client

The client we’ve continuously served the longest (since 2008) happens to be in the academics and higher-education sector – the prestigious American Academy of Art. Our work with the Academy has included: creating dozens of student and alumni profile stories; developed strategic plans for launching new programs, building the Academy’s brand, increasing enrollment, leveraging social media, and more; developing and pitching stories that resulted in many print and TV news pieces; and much more.

We also created a comprehensive strategic public relations and marketing communications plan for Resurrection University nursing school.

The $71 Million Question

Leading a team with Weber-Shandwick, Jason also helped Southfield Public Schools with academy public affairs, community relations and media relations to convince voters (after previously voting no) to support a $71 million millage to keep the district financially stable.

We Understand This World

Besides knowing academic public relations and marketing, we understand accreditation; student and staff recruitment, retention and relations; alumni relations; development; and the crucial importance of continually engaging key audiences – reinforcing your value and mission, what matters to them, and facilitating two-way communications.

We understand how to address and effectively communicate with the many constituents important to academic institutions, including: students, parents, faculty, staff, accreditation organizations, employers, media and others.

“Sherman Communications has provided excellent ideas to promote our institution since we hired the firm in 2008. It is a high-energy company that has listened to our needs and goals. Jason and his team are a pleasure to work with. They have produced several high-impact media stories for The Academy. We remain a very satisfied client.”
